Description

Letter from an Unknown Woman

The adaptation of Stefan Zweig's great novel
An Unknown Woman

A Secret

A Letter

A Confession...

"To you, who have never known me..." This is the opening of the confession written by the protagonist of Stefan Zweig's novel. A woman, standing next to her son's corpse, decides to write a letter to the man she loves in order to reveal a great secret. A confession that is both beautiful and painful, melancholic and passionate at the same time.

How much can a person love without that love being reciprocated? For how long?

Letter from an Unknown Woman teaches us that love is one of the most intense forces that exist, although sometimes it can end up being harmful to oneself.

STEFAN ZWEIG
He remains one of the most widely read authors of the first half of the 20th century. Strongly influenced by Freud, Zweig believed that "no suffering is as sacred as that which is not expressed out of modesty" and thus, defending psychoanalytic theories, he became a master at speaking about secret passions and the darkness of souls.

Letter from an Unknown Woman is the story of a life cut short by pouring out its pain.

With extreme sensitivity and tenderness, the unknown woman confesses her life to him; she hides nothing, no matter how cruel, unpleasant or shameful it may be. It is a declaration of love. A love that hurts, but in which tenderness also fits.
