Swan Lake. International Classical Ballet
P.I. Tchaikovsky

The quintessential work of universal classical ballet
Premiered in 1877 at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Piotr Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake is the quintessential work of universal classical ballet. It is the most performed work in the history of dance.

Its plot covers the whole range of human emotions that run between love and magic, the eternal struggle between good and evil:

Prince Siegfried celebrates his twenty-first birthday and during the festivities he receives the news that at the next ball he must choose a wife. In a nearby forest, on the shore of a mysterious lake, he falls in love with the beauty of Princess Odette, who falls victim to a spell by a powerful and evil magician Rothbart: a swan by day, a human by night. The curse will only be broken with the arrival of true love. Siegfried will also be the target of the sorcerer's tricks, who will manage to get him to betroth Rothbart's daughter, Odile (Black Swan), who bears a striking resemblance to the Swan Princess, at the Grand Palace Ball. Aware of the deception, the prince will once again go to the lake to fight a battle for Odette's love.
