Come and travel through Valencian textile history at the Silk Museum
Until January 12, 2025, you can visit the exhibition "Royal Tapestry Factory: 300 Years of History. Five Valencian artists at the RFT" at the Silk Museum.
The exhibition highlights the work of five great Valencian artists who have left their mark on the Royal Tapestry Factory; they are Mariano Salvador Maella, Manuel Benedito, Manuel Valdés, Elena del Rivero and Francisco José Amérigo.
This exhibition is a tribute to textile history and the Valencian artistic legacy.
Among the most outstanding pieces are two unpublished cartoons by Francisco José Amérigo, along with a careful selection of 70 other pieces.
Included are tapestries, rugs and tablecloths, as well as utensils and graphic documentation from the Royal Tapestry Factory.
The connection between silk and tapestry comes to life in this space, showing how both elements have woven the cultural history of the city.
In addition, there will be several lectures and workshops on the restoration and manufacture of carpets and tapestries and a delicious themed dinner.
