Patriotic month | Family workshop: Mexican toys. Magic boards

Description

In the Mexican craft markets you can find traditional Mexican toys such as the yo-yo, the top, the balero and the little boards. Handmade toys, endearing and remembered for having guaranteed hours of family fun from generation to generation.
In this workshop you will have the opportunity to learn about and make your own magic board, a very entertaining toy that, through an optical illusion, makes us believe that the boards move up and down, challenging our sense of sight.
First session: Saturday, September 14 | 12:00 – 13:30h

Taught by Jesús Sánchez
Director of the La Matatena Puppet Company with more than 15 years of experience in the art of puppetry, he has been a scholarship recipient of the PECDA program, Chiapas, Mexico in 2010, 2012 and 2016, and winner of the Gachita Amador 2021 Award from the Zacatecas Institute of Culture within the framework of the VI Fandango of Children's Art and Culture. Puppets, stories and musical compositions for girls and boys have been part of his life, laughter and fun became his best carry-on luggage, which has taken him to travel throughout Mexico and Spain.
