The Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum rock band Counting Crows has announced The Complete Sweets Tour! The tour will bring the band's legendary live show to fans across North America and Europe, stopping in Barcelona on October 14 at Razzmatazz and Madrid on October 15 at La Riviera.
Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets! is the band's first full-length album since Butter Miracle: Suite One, which received critical acclaim in 2021. Embodying the contrast between intimate storytelling and grand universal themes, the upcoming album promises to deliver the signature narrative style and distinct melodies that have made Counting Crows one of the most beloved bands of the past three decades.
Vocalist Adam Duritz delivers a raw and immersive performance, backed by the band's dynamic instrumentation, which fuses rock, folk, and alternative influences. The album's first single, "Spaceman In Tulsa," ushers in this new era with a captivating narrative and vibrant instrumentation. As the band's first new music in nearly five years, the song seamlessly blends their signature sound with a fresh, modern energy.
"Spaceman In Tulsa is about metamorphosis, about how music breaks down who we were and transforms us into something new. It's about broken lives becoming something better," said Adam Duritz.
For more than three decades, the Grammy and Oscar-nominated rock band Counting Crows has captivated listeners around the world with their deeply soulful and complex interpretation of timeless rock & roll. Emerging onto the music scene in 1993 with their multi-platinum debut album, August and Everything After, the band has released seven studio albums, selling over 20 million records worldwide, and is revered as one of the most prominent rock bands touring live worldwide.
In October 1996, their second studio album, Recovering the Satellites, certified double platinum, debuted at number one, further cementing their growing reputation as one of the premier American alternative rock bands. Following their initial success, Counting Crows released This Desert Life (1999), Hard Candy (2002), Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings (2008), Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did on Our Summer Vacation) (2012), Echoes of the Outlaw Roadshow (2013), and Somewhere Under Wonderland (2014). In 2004, the band recorded the hit "Accidentally in Love" for the animated film Shrek 2. The song's immediate success earned them an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song at the 2005 Oscars, a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song, and a Grammy nomination for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television, or Other Visual Media.
In 2021, Counting Crows was ranked #8 on Billboard's Greatest of All Time: Adult Alternative Artists 25th Anniversary chart. After seven years, Adam Duritz and Counting Crows released Butter Miracle: Suite One in May 2021 to critical acclaim. The band also embarked on their first tour since 2018, The Butter Miracle Tour, which ran from 2021 to 2023 with sold-out shows in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
The band's latest single, "Spaceman In Tulsa," is now available on all major streaming platforms. Their upcoming album, "Butter Miracle: The Complete Sweets!", will be released worldwide on May 9.
