Description
ALAN, The Musical
More than a musical
ALAN is a musical, with live music and voices, inspired by an emotional true story: the life of Alan Montoliu, a seventeen-year-old boy who, due to bullying and transphobia, decides to commit suicide. Society does not treat Alan well and prevents him from experiencing full happiness, depriving him of being who he is; depriving him of, quite simply, BEING.
ALAN is a show for all audiences*. A necessary show, a 'MUST' for the adult public and for that youth sector that so badly needs to look in the mirror and see the reality of a teenager reflected as he truly is.
ALAN is a work that invites us to reflect on important issues such as personal identity and individual freedom, while moving us with an original soundtrack and a spectacular staging.
Through this musical, we can learn positive values such as the courage to be oneself and follow our dreams, as well as the importance of emotional support in difficult times.
*Not recommended for children under 10 years old.
SYNOPSIS
Alan is a 17-year-old boy who, as he says, has a family and a normal life. But what does normal mean? Well, like any other teenager: happy and reserved, brave and full of fears. With a worried mother, too worried in his opinion, and a grandfather who indulges everything. And then there is Mia, whom he adores and detests in equal parts.
But, unfortunately, Alan also faces the typical problems that many teenagers suffer in high school today: insults, messages, blows, mockery. How should a teenager handle this situation of harassment and transphobia? How can a mother help her son who does not let himself be helped? And us? What can we do?
ALAN is more than a show: it is a tribute to the courage and perseverance of those who fight to be accepted as they are. A show full of optimism and hope to try to change the views of the future.
WHAT THE AUDIENCE SAYS
"ALAN sweetens us at times and at others he excites our feelings. Every lyric, every note and every melody are perfectly written and accompanied by an excellent interpretation. Congratulations for being so professional and above all so demanding and brave."
Pep Vallès. Theatre director and programmer
"The best musical I have seen in recent years. Creators with great talent and great courage to bring to the stage a story so hard for the audience, but who tell it with a love and a delicacy that captivates you from the first moment, and makes you stand up to applaud before the play has finished. What they have done is wonderful."
