IVAM becomes a nomadic and multicultural space that challenges history
Simone Fattal, to celebrate the Julio González International Prize 2024 for her contribution to contemporary art, is taking up residence at IVAM with a major exhibition.
From December 12, 2024 to June 1, 2025, the museum is transformed into a timeless journey where the archaic and the modern are perfectly intertwined, offering a look at the career of this Lebanese artist.
Simone Fattal's work, mostly sculptural - although it also includes paintings and photographs - is fueled by mythology, creating a nomadic and multicultural space that challenges the history we know.
Her sculptures are usually made of bronze, clay and stoneware and, conceptually, range from ancient Egypt to Sunni mysticism and Greco-Roman tradition.
To create her works, she has sought inspiration from historical figures from the Mediterranean.
