In the 16th century, Seville was the most important city in Europe. The wealth of the New World arrived at its port, which was later distributed throughout the continent. Here the gold and silver of America was minted. They called it Nova Roma, because of its splendor, and the best Italian and Flemish artists of the day went there. The best Renaissance was combined with the Gothic and the Mudejar in a unique harmony of styles in the world. In this context, the Casa de Salinas was built. Located in the monumental area of the Old Town of Seville, a stone's throw from the cathedral, La Giralda and Los reales Alcázares, this house shared with other mansions a neighborhood of illustrious and wealthy people. Baltasar Jaén, the first owner of the house and founder of his own estate, belonged to one of these lineages. At the beginning of the 20th century, the house became the property of the Salinas family, who subjected it to a delicate and meticulous restoration process to return it to its original appearance, which had been partly altered with interventions carried out throughout its four hundred years of existence. history, and especially around 1900. Currently, it shows off its primitive 16th century structures with elements typical of the time of its construction, aesthetically harmonized as reflected in its warm and comfortable interiors.
