Description
Miguel Poveda (Barcelona, 1973) is a flamenco singer who, to the surprise of many, is not Andalusian, but Catalan. He began to sing when he was only 15 years old, and in 1993 he began his professional career, managing to be awarded several prizes, such as the Lámpara Minera Award, one of the most appreciated in the world of flamenco.
On occasions, this artist has gone beyond traditional flamenco, innovating in his themes, something that has led to some criticism from the most orthodox of the genre.
Miguel Poveda has participated in numerous festivals, both national and international, and has collaborated with renowned artists such as Enrique Morente, Paco de Lucía, Isabel Pantoja, Pasión Vega, Raphael, Alejandro Sanz, and many others. He has also taken his first steps in the cinema. Some of his works stand out, such as 'Suena flamenco' (1998), 'Zaguán' (2001), 'Desglaç' (2005), 'Coplas del querer' (2009), 'Artesano' (2012) and 'Diálogos' ( 2013), among others.
