Description

La Plata was born with the intention of shaking up the Valencian rock'n'roll and punk scene eight years ago, mixing indie melodies, a nostalgic synthwave aesthetic, the aggressiveness of punk and the energetic rhythms of hardcore. Years go by, but the band's will to challenge and transcend the boundaries between musical genres remains intact, understanding each new project as a creative engine to express and experiment, listen and see, learn and forget.

La Plata has never had the intention of making the same album twice. Un atasco (EP, 2017) and Desorden (LP, 2018) were their first two works with which they entered the Spanish indie scene with force. The evolution of their subsequent releases has always gone hand in hand with each new musical obsession of its members, combined with the desire to explore new combinations between diverse influences and recording and production techniques: 01 03 2019 (EP, 2019), Acción directa (LP, 2022) and Sueños (EP, 2023).

Since the release of Sueños, La Plata has conceived itself as a "self-produced" band that, trying to escape hyper-productive or fast-consumption dynamics, directs each stage of musical and audiovisual creation (composition, recording, production, mixing, video creation, graphic design, styling, photography, merchandising...), something perhaps not so common within the most commercial music circuits. They are currently preparing what will be their third LP, which will be accompanied by a tour that will take them throughout the peninsula.
