Casa Árabe is a public law entity of an inter-administrative nature, attached to the General State Administration, with its own legal personality, full capacity to act and endowed with its own assets.
The consortium is made up of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (MAEUEC), the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the Junta de Andalucía, the Community of Madrid, the Madrid City Council and the City Council From Cordoba.
Casa Árabe operates as a strategic center in Spain's relations with the Arab world. A meeting point where the different actors and institutions, private and public, from the field of business, education, the academic, political and cultural world, dialogue, interact, establish lines of cooperation and undertake joint projects.
Since its foundation in 2006, Casa Árabe has carried out its work as an active platform and tool of Spanish public diplomacy, integrating its actions into a solid Network of Houses together with Casa de América, Casa Asia, Casa Africa, Casa del Mediterráneo and Centro Sefarad- Israel. To carry out its mission, Casa Árabe has two offices located in Madrid and Córdoba, which place it in a privileged geographical situation, not only in the Mediterranean region, but also as a mediator of exchanges between the Americas and the Arabian Gulf countries. where the presence of Spanish companies and professionals is increasing.
Ultimately, all these elements are essential in order to achieve the ultimate objectives of the institution: to promote economic ties, spread knowledge, channel intercultural dialogue, and analyze and mediate the socio-political changes that affect Arab and Islamic countries.
