In the heart of Madrid, you will find one of the most emblematic buildings of the cultural world of the city: The CASER Calderón Theater in Madrid.
Located at 18 Atocha Street in Madrid, the Calderón Theater was inaugurated as the Odeón Theater in June 1917. Built on the site occupied by the former Trinitarios convent, it was designed by the architect Eduardo Sánchez Eznarriaga. Inspired by the best tradition of Italian theatrical architecture, the painting that decorates the vault of the enclosure was the work of the Leonese artist Demetrio Monteserín and the exquisite stained glass windows that illuminate the lobby are the work of Casa Maumejean. Since August 2015, SOM Produce has taken over the management and programming of the completely renovated Calderón Theater.
The first show to be staged in the new era was STOMP, followed by La Gran Ilusión by EL MAGO POP, the highest grossing illusionist in Europe.
It later hosted a new blockbuster of the musical classic West Side Story. In the 2021 -2022 season, “A Chorus Line” will be performed, the classic musical that triumphed on Broadway. In addition, other shows such as "The Hole", "The Addams Family", "Goodbye Arturo" by the company "La Cubana" and "La Último Tourné" have been represented. World-class artists such as Joaquín Cortés and Sara Baras have also performed on its stage. In addition, it is a reference venue in the celebration of concerts.
