Description
After its overwhelming success last season, it returns to the Infanta Isabel Theater in Madrid, the last production performed by maestro Carlos Saura before his death at the beginning of the year. Based on the figure of Federico García Lorca, Saura creates a theatrical show in which he encompasses all the artistic disciplines that he cultivated throughout his extensive career: music, photography, painting, dance and cinema.
The singer María Carrasco takes the lead role in this difficult challenge in which she will interpret, sing and dance, accompanied on stage by the actors Alberto Amarilla and Saturna Barrio and by the pianist Antonio Bejarano, the same cast that conquered the Spanish stages the previous season. . María Carrasco is one of the most solid values in current music, a temperamental woman with strong flamenco roots who passes through the sieve of the most current music with intelligence, criticism and humor. Seeing María Carrasco on stage is already a spectacle in itself and, hand in hand with Saura's creativity, she will reach heights hitherto unknown in her career.
Saura wanted, exceptionally, for a woman to play the role of the poet, since her message is universal and timeless.
The actors will recreate Lorca's life on stage, from his birth in the Granada plain, through his stay in the student residence, his trips to New York, Cuba and Argentina, the creation of the Barraca, until the final outcome of his execution in the Civil War.
Hand in hand with Saura, and taking the poet as a guide, the viewer will embark on a journey through beauty that will cover the life path of one of the most important figures of international artistic creation.
'Lorca por Saura' is a compendium of artistic disciplines woven together with the usual expertise of maestro Carlos Saura to generate a work of entertainment that directly touches the feelings of the public.
