Spiral in a Straight Line. The title of Touché Amoré's new album, the first one they have released since 2020, could well be a metaphor for their own identity as a band. On a historically straight path like post-hardcore, where there are often arrows on the ground marking the route to be followed by groups, the Californians have gone their own way. Even now that they have joined their story with that of Ross Robinson, producer-legend of post-hardcore and other thunderous genres, Touché Amoré are still a free verse. The fact that their path has not been a straight line, but with melodic, emo or pop-punk detours, has not stopped expanding their universe. And with it, also their audience. On Spiral in a Straight Line they continue to do so: outsiders such as Julien Baker and Lou Barlow collaborate on the album.
Touché Amoré will present Spiral in a Straight Line in Madrid and Barcelona at the beginning of next year. They will perform on January 22 at the Mon venue and on January 23 at La (2) de Apolo to demonstrate that, whatever happens within their universe, their connection with the stage does not change.
