The Weeknd is the stage name of Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, one of the most popular Canadian producers and singers on the international scene. He started to get known in late 2010 when he posted some anonymous songs on YouTube. However, it would not be until 2013 when he would publish his first record work: the album Kiss Land.

Since this first release, The Weeknd's fame has risen exponentially to position himself as one of the most respected singers today. His groundbreaking style, his continuous innovation and his characteristic voice are just some of the ingredients that make his music not to go unnoticed.

Such is his talent that in just a few years, the composer has managed to win three Grammy Awards, nine Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards and nine Juno Awards. He has even been nominated for an Oscar.
